Such as they are... To view this puzzle you need a JavaScript- and frames-capable web browser. This puzzle was the result of my wondering how one could make a hyperlink that changed more than one page at a time. When you enter the puzzle you will see a 9x9 table, each cell of which contains a numbered link and a different color. Clicking the link will change the color and numbered link-target of certain other cells in a precise, but apparently random pattern. The puzzle is to re-arrange the order of the colors or to create patterns. If you can figure out how it works, I'd appreciate it if you would explain it to me. Even though I came up with the idea, I'm still not 100% certain it works the way I thought it did originally. If you create an especially interesting pattern, you are encouraged to take a screen shot of it and send it to me. Try clicking all the frames in a column in order from top to bottom, or clicking all the frames in a diagonal. Watch where the numbers go, and see if you can figure out where they'll end up next. When you get tired, just close the window and you'll be back to where you came from. Good luck! Καλλιστι! |
